Bats and Moths Evening

Bats and Moths - Saturday July 29th

The Bat and Moth Night was very well attended with more people than usual coming along for a very pleasant evening stroll. We started with a look at some injured bats brought for us by Colin and Annette Faulkner of the Lincolnshire Bat Group. Then during our short walk we saw several bats
(mainly pipistrelles), but also picked up noctule and whiskered bats on the bat detectors. Unfortunately we did not have a many moths as normal
come to the trap, but saw nearly 20 species. Dave Shepherd worked hard at catching specimens for people to have a closer look at and was bombarded
with questions especially from the many childrenattending.
